Viola M. Weber was born July 23, 1919, in Flandreau, SD, to parents Clarence Meeker and Caroline Leohoff Meeker and entered into death on September 24, 2011, at Bethesda of Beresford. Vi received her education in the Flandreau Public Schools. Vi married Martin Weber on August 28, 1940, at Rock Rapids, Iowa. They lived in Pipestone, Minnesota for many years, moving to Beresford, South Dakota in 1958 where they owned and operated the Ben Franklin Store for 22 years. Retiring in 1980 they spent the next 17 years wintering in Edinburg, Texas. Vi was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary and the Beresford United Church of Church where she served in the Women's Fellowship. Vi was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother and one grandson. Among those who survive and gratefully shared her life are her two sons: James and his wife Yula of Beresford, George and his wife Rosemary of Vienna, Virginia, three grandchildren: Steven, Ronald and Kimberly: and six great grandchildren: Madeline, Macallister, Landon, Amelia, Samuel and Tyler Funeral services will be held 10:00AM, Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at the Beresford United Church of Christ with burial to follow at the Beresford Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4PM to 8PM with family present from 7PM to 8PM at Wass Funeral Home in Beresford.
