Tracia Morren, age 89, of Beresford South Dakota, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday evening, March 21, 2025, at Spring Brook Village of La Crescent, Minnesota.

Tracia was born on January 7, 1936, at Alton, Iowa, the daughter of John and Henrietta (Hulst) Vande Weerd. She was raised in the Hospers, Iowa area and graduated from the Newkirk High School. Tracia was honored to speak at their graduation ceremony.

Tracia at 18 years and one week old, married her Dutchman, Dick Morren, on January 14, 1954 at the Presbyterian Church in Hospers, IA. Dick passed to Heaven September 9, 2017, having been married to the love of his life for more than 63 years. Due to Alzheimer's, in March of 2018, Tracia became a resident of Spring Brook Village of La Crescent, MN.

Tracia and Dick rented various farms short term in South Dakota before renting a farm near Hospers from 1963 to 1975. They eventually bought a farm and moved the family to the Beresford, SD area in 1975. That farm is still in the family today. Along with being a very involved farmer's wife and loving mother to her five children, Tracia also thoroughly enjoyed her role as Activity Director for 19 years at Bethesda Nursing Home in Beresford.

Tracia and Dick enjoyed many things during their years together. These included various church activities, card club, dancing which included ballroom and square dancing, and traveling to several countries with multiple trips to the Netherlands to visit family. Tracia's hobbies were crocheting, baking, going for long walks, volunteering for the Rescue Mission, singing and playing the piano and organ. Her music blessed not only her family but also her church, Bethesda and even those who lived at Spring Brook Village.

Tracia is survived by five children; Clifford (Debra) Morren, Chapman, KS, Susan (Ted Sellers) Calmes, Casper, WY, Ric (Julie) Morren, Beresford, SD, Michael (Kim) Morran, Sioux Falls, SD, Lisa (Darren) Moser, La Crescent, MN; ten grandchildren, Amanda (Rob) Steenholdt, Jordan (Amy Moreland) Morren, Sarah (Jason) Tabor, Emily (Brittany Gosnell) Calmes, Kaleb (Marie) Calmes, Brittany (Cody) Knutson, Jaylen Morren, Nicholas Moser, Garrett Morran and Afton Morran; and ten great-grandchildren, MaKayla, Brady, JaVonte, Avery, Jackson, Charlotte, Harper, Max, Ethan and Briar; sister-in-law, Ruth Vande Weerd, of Mazeppa, MN; and many nephews and nieces.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Micheal Calmes; Tracia and Dick's siblings and their spouses; extended family members and many dear friends.

The family would like to thank Spring Brook Village of La Crescent, MN and Moments Hospice of La Crosse, WI for their excellent and compassionate care.

There will be a Celebration of Life service at Delaware Reformed Church 46587 US Hwy 18, Lennox SD on Saturday, March 29, 2025. Visitation at 10:00am, Celebration of Life at 11:00am, with a lunch following.  Memorial donations may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org.
