Tonya Marie Anderson was born June 26, 1974 in Vermillion, SD to parents Leslie and Karen (Buum) Anderson. She died December 18, 2012 as the result of a motor vehicle accident, at the age of 38 years, 5 months and 22 days. Tonya was baptized and confirmed at Brule Creek Lutheran Church. She graduated from Beresford High School in 1992 and attended Stewarts School of Hairstyling. She worked in salons in South Dakota, Georgia and Texas. Rena Brunick gave Tonya her first job. This started a friendship that was blessed with many laughs, cries and a lifelong love of horses. Tonya worked at Wells Fargo Bank in Beresford and First Dakota Bank, Walmart and most recently Alleviant, all located in Vermillion. Tonya enjoyed reading and horseback riding. Her love of horses led her to volunteer with special needs children, giving them the opportunity to horseback ride. One of her proudest moments was being asked to be one of her nephew Wyatt's Godparents. She loved spending time with her family and friends and will forever be remembered for her infectious laugh. She is survived by her parents Leslie and Karen Anderson; her brother Chris Anderson and wife Alison; nephew and niece Wyatt and Elsie Anderson; a very special friend John Fitzgerald and his son Levi; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ellerd and Pearl Anderson and Elmer and Lillian Buum. Memorial services will be held 7:00 PM, Friday, December 21, 2012 at Brule Creek Lutheran Church with a fellowship time after services at the church.
