Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7th at Brooklyn Evangelical Free Church, rural Beresford. Visitation will be on Friday from 2:00 8:00 p.m. at Wass Funeral Home in Beresford with the family present from 7:00 8:00 p.m. Tina Christine Gustafson Hansen was born June 14, 1904 in Clay County, SD to parents Charles and Amelia (Anderson) Gustafson. She died October 3, 2006 in Beresford, SD at the age of 102 years, three months and 19 days. Tina grew up on a farm in Brooklyn Township and attended Joy rural school. After the death of her mother, she, along with her older sister, Lillie, and their father kept the family together. Tina married Harold Hansen and they farmed near Stockholm, SD. They retired and moved to Beresford in the 1970s. Tina liked to bake and crochet. She won many awards for bread and crocheted doilies, which she entered in fairs and farm shows. Tina was a member of the Stockholm Evangelical Free Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and active in the Womens Missionary Society. She was currently a member of Brooklyn Evangelical Free Church. Tina died at Bethesda of Beresford where she had resided since 1994. She lived there happily, loved and was loved by the staff. Visits from family and friends delighted her and she always knew and always remembered faces and names. She is survived by one sister, Dorothy Gall of Yankton; two sisters-in-law, Helen Holm of Viborg and Olga Gustafson of Freeman; many nieces and nephews including, Alice Mae (Howard) Kennedy, Beresford. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Harold; two brothers and four sisters.
