Susan A. Marcotte

Susan Ann Marcotte, 78, of Beresford, SD, was called home to our Lord Friday, June 5th 2026. Susan’s wish was to be laid to rest alongside of her husband, Roger D. Marcotte, at the South Dakota Veteran’s Cemetery, Sioux Falls, SD. Committal services will be 11AM Friday, June 12.

Susan A. Marcotte was born February 12, 1947 in Beresford, SD to Alfred and Bernadine (Adams) Van Hecke. She was the youngest of 4 children. She married Roger Marcotte on October 7, 1967. Together, they started their family in Scotland, SD and shortly after their third child was born they moved to Vermillion, SD where they raised their children.

Susan graduated from Beresford high school. She went on to graduate from Stuarts School in Sioux Falls, SD. She was a loving caretaker and was most proud of her family, her work with ESA, the Vermillion Daycare and Bethesda of Beresford. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother.

Susan is survived by her children; Anne (Jeff) Olson, Beresford, SD, Ryan (Carisa) Marcotte, Pine Island, MN, and Ross (JoEllen) Marcotte, Sioux Falls, SD; four grandchildren, Macy, Isaac, Andrew and Sam; great-granddaughter, Ellajah; her brothers, Chuck (Gail) Van Hecke of Muscatine, IA and Jerry (Deloris) Van Hecke, Naples, FL.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Bernadine Van Hecke; brother, Tom Van Hecke.
