Sherry Jensen-Chambers was born July 28, 1980 in Viborg, South Dakota to Tom and Sharon (Pierce) Jensen. She died in an auto accident December 1, 2013 at the age of 33 years, four months and three days. She was raised in Centerville and graduated from Centerville High School in 1998. Sherry loved to care for people and got to do so working as a nurse aid in local nursing homes. She worked at Centerville, Beresford, Viborg, and most recently at the nursing home in Parkston. In addition to working at her job, Sherry spent time caring for her grandmother in Centerville. Her children were most important in her life. She enjoyed playing cards, camping and playing basketball with them. Sherry also liked horseback riding, all things with a dolphin theme and the Dallas Cowboys. Her mother, Sharon Jensen; infant sister, Tammy Lee; paternal grandfather, maternal grandparents and best friend, Emily Erickson preceded her in death. Sherry is survived by her sons, Michael and John Chambers and their father, Michael Chambers all of Centerville; parents, Tom (Marvia) Jensen of Centerville; three sisters, Tracy Baker of Sioux City, IA, Lucinda (Aaron) Johnson of Centerville and April (Cody) Sutherland of Britton, SD; and her paternal grandmother, Norma Jensen of Centerville. Funeral services for Sherry will be 10:30AM Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Scandia Lutheran Church in Centerville, SD with burial to follow at Riverview Cemetery, rural Centerville. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
