Sheila L. Lowther was born August 24, 1962 in Vermillion, SD to parents Dale and Donna (Lane) Bye. She passed away November 7, 2016 at the Heart Hospital of South Dakota in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 54.

Sheila graduated from Beresford High School 1980 and then began her lifelong career in healthcare at Bethesda Nursing Home in Beresford. While employed at Bethesda she worked toward and attained a degree in nursing from Southeast Tech. She worked at Avera McKennan until 2013 when her health forced her to retire.

Sheila was an avid reader of romance novels and enjoyed her trips to the casino. Her greatest love in life was her grandchildren. They meant the world to her and she soaked up every minute she had with them.

She was preceded in death by her mother Donna and a sister Laurie DuBois.

Her survivors include her dad Dale Bye, Beresford; two daughters, Jessica (Phillip) Pascoe, Tea, SD and Stephanie Lowther, Sioux Falls, SD; a son Joshua Lowther, Delaware; 9 grandchildren, Hailee, Ashton, Cameron, Paige, Carter, Makinzie, Blake, Kylie and Liam; a sister Connie (Jim) Kribell, Beresford; a brother Jim (Bobbie) Bye, Sioux Falls; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held 4PM, Friday, November 11, 2016 at Wass Funeral Home in Beresford. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
