Sharon Anne Weisser, age 71, of Alcester, South Dakota died October 31, 2026. She was born June 2, 1955 in Hawarden, Iowa to Wendell and Carol (Johnson) Pearson.

Sharon, also known as Sam, was raised on the family farm north of Alcester where she attended Elmwood Country School through eighth grade. Sam graduated from Alcester High School with the Class of 1974. Growing up she preferred to be with her dad and brothers working on the farm.

Sam will be remembered as a hard worker; she was a meat cutter for IBP and Alcester Meats, worked at a sewing factory and mostly as a mail deliverer. Sam loved driving her mail route because of the relationships she made with her customers and being in the country seeing nature.

She married Randy Weisser on March 30, 2001.

Sam’s lifelong love of the outdoors was evident through her abundant vegetable garden, growing sweet corn and raising beautiful flowers. She had a love for all animals too, especially her cat, Jethro.

Her father, Wendell Pearson; and brother, Regan Pearson preceded her in death.

Sam is survived by her husband of 25 years, Randy Weisser; brother, Dale (Karen) Pearson; sister, Joan (Jim) Ahart; sisters-in-law, Linda Pearson, Rhonda Persinger and Suzi Tucker; several nieces and nephews and many friends.

Visitation will be 3-5PM Thursday, November 5, 2026 at Wass Funeral Chapel, 101 W 2nd Street, Alcester, SD 57001 with Rev. Mary Hendricks-Wilkens leading a remembrance service at 5PM.
