Sara Jane Embrock, known by all as Sally, age 68, of Alcester, SD passed away June 14, 2012 at Avera Hospital, Sioux Falls, SD. Sally (Duimstra) Embrock was born August 7, 1943 in Sioux Falls, SD, the daughter of Peter and Violet (Schliemann) Duimstra. She lived with her parents and family in Colton, SD until her graduation from Colton High School in 1961. Sally was united in marriage to Orville Clarence Embrock in the Colton Methodist Church on June 2, 1962. They lived in Sioux Falls, SD, Steen, MN, Hudson, SD and Alcester, SD. While in Alcester, Sally worked for the Morningside Manor Nursing Home and the Alcester-Hudson School District. Sally and Orville recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Orville's selfless love for her was shown by the many caring hours he spent with her throughout their lives together. Sally's other great love was spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She also greatly enjoyed the special 'sister weekends' and trips she took with her sisters. Other interests of Sally's included going to movies, reading, watching old black and white movies, music, shopping, playing games, and coloring with her grandchildren. She always made an effort to attend all her children's and grandchildren's events. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Alcester. Sally was dearly loved by her family and friends and will leave an empty place in the hearts of all who knew her. Her infectious laugh and sense of humor will be remembered by all. She fought a courageous battle with cancer for 6 years and was an inspiration to all cancer survivors. Survivors include her husband, Orville and 5 children, Chris (Deb) Embrock, Grain Valley, MO; Robin (Tom) Row, Chancellor, SD; Todd (Teresa) Embrock, Byron, MN; Michael (Susan) Embrock, Buffalo Center, IA; and Scott (Dana) Embrock, Sioux City, IA. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Millie Embrock and 12 grandchildren: Fawn Holley and Austin Embrock; Rachel Row; Nicole, Jesse and Cody Embrock; Aaron, Isaac and Amber Embrock; Adam, Hayden and Landon Embrock.
