Rosemary was raised on a farm outside of Hawarden and in 1964, her mom and her moved into Hawarden. She graduated from West Sioux High School in May of 1965 and on June 19, 1965 she married the love of her life, Clayton (Lefty) Snedeker at the Lincoln County Courthouse in Canton, SD. The couple had 4 beautiful children. They lived on a farm outside of Hudson, in Hudson, and in 1986 moved to Alcester. Rosemary worked as a certified nursing aide and a laundry aide at both the nursing homes in Hudson and in Alcester. She worked at the grocery store, Clover Farm, in Alcester for a short time and was her husband Lefty's right hand woman running the local bar for about 15 years.
Rosemary cherished the time spent with her family and friends. She was a big cheerleader and supporter, not only for her own children's sports and various activities over the years but for her grandchildren's sports and various activities as well. Rosemary was known to many of her children's friends as mom and to her granddaughter Anna's friends as grandma. Rosemary enjoyed watching shows on TLC, Food Network, Wheel of Fortune, and of course the news and weather so she could make sure to keep her daughters up to date on what was going on in the world and what the weather was going to be. She loved reading and playing games with her grandchildren. In her earlier years, she liked to crochet, sew, play cards, and bake. She enjoyed shopping and finding a place with great food to eat. Rosemary always said "I'm just along for the ride." Rosemary had a heartwarming smile, fun, loving personality and a heart of gold, always putting her family, friends, and pretty much anyone before her." She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
