Funeral services for Ron Voeltz will be at 2PM Friday, August 7, 2009 at Lands Lutheran Church, rural Hudson, SD. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-8PM at Wass Funeral Home in Beresford with the family present from 6-8PM and a prayer service at 7PM.

Ronald Herman Voeltz, son of Herman and Marie (Foos) Voeltz was born on June 28, 1940 at Vilas, South Dakota and died on August 4, 2009 at Hudson Healthcare after a long illness.

Ron grew up on farms near Canistota, SD, Staples, MN and Howard, SD. He graduated from Howard High School in 1958 and moved to Sioux Falls, SD for work. Ron spent four years in the Air Force at Ellsworth AFB.

He married Constance Gubbrud in 1966 and they had three daughters. They lived in Detroit, MI, Dawson, MN, Alcester, SD and settled on a farm near Beresford, SD. After Connies death in 1983, Ron married Kaleen Waddell Gubbrud in 1985, when he gained two stepsons. Ron was active in his community and Lands Lutheran Church. He enjoyed golfing, cards and coffee with his friends.

Ron is survived by his brother, Richard (Eileen) Voeltz of Shakopee, MN; his wife, Kaleen; daughters, Sara (David) Ellis of Omaha, NE, Heather (Brian) Eltze of Crete, NE and Rona (Ryan) Sinding of Sioux Falls; stepsons, Grant (Mary) Gubbrud of Cedar Falls, IA and Dwight (Amy) Gubbrud of Belle Fourche, SD; 12 grandchildren, Ruth, Ellen and Maren Ellis, Claire, Elizabeth, Will, Nick and Alex Eltze, Jacob and Grace Gubbrud, Taylor and Carson Gubbrud, and special relatives Earl and Beverly Voeltz.

His parents; first wife, Constance; and two sisters, LeeAnn Gaunt and Phyllis Schmitt preceded him in death.
