Ronald Gene Hustrulid was born August 14, 1951 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Palmer and Marilynn (Miller) Hustrulid. He died August 24, 2023 in Sioux Falls at the age of 72 years and 10 days surrounded by his family.

Ron, also known as "Hollywood" was raised on the family farm near Beresford. After graduating from Beresford High School, Ron attended college at South Dakota State University graduating with a degree in Agricultural Science.

Ron married Netta Strand on March 5, 1977 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. They raised two beautiful daughters, Andrea and Lisa. Ron worked as a heavy machinery mechanic for Van Buskirk Construction, Weatherton Contracting and Pedersen Machine in Beresford.

Hollywood's favorite teams were the Minnesota Twins and the Minnesota Vikings, along with his beloved South Dakota State University Jackrabbits. The things that brought Ron the most joy in life were his dogs, hunting, fishing and driving his ranger.

He is survived by his wife, Netta; two daughters, Lisa (David) Fortier and Andrea Fischer; four grandchildren, Owen and Olivia Fischer and Evan and AJ Fortier; a brother, Bob (Sharon) Hustrulid; and two sisters, Lynelle Hustrulid and Sheryl Ek as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, LuAnn Hustrulid-Dutro.

Funeral services will be held at 2PM Monday, August 28, 2023 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Beresford with burial to follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, August 27, 2023 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Beresford from 5-7PM with a 7PM prayer service.
