Ronald Anderson, 61, of Beresford, South Dakota died February 9, 2011. He was born in Viborg, SD. He was one of three sons of Wayne and Gertrude (Vik) Anderson. He grew up on his family farm in Centerville, SD. He graduated from Centerville High School in 1967. Ron attended South Dakota State University in Brookings. He graduated in 1971 with a degree in Ag business.

He married Kay Wood on January 23, 1970. They moved to a farm just outside of Beresford. They were blessed with three children.

Ron partnered with his father to expand the family dairy over the next 15 years. He continued to farm the land and support the dairy industry until his death. Ron was employed by First Midwest Bank in Centerville as an Ag loan officer in 1992 and became Vice President. Ron was a dedicated member
of Brooklyn Evangelical Free Church where he served as Chairmen, served numerous terms on the Deacon Board, was involved with the youth group and many other projects. He was an active member of Lions Club, where he served as President and Secretary and was a volunteer at Howard Wood Dakota Relays and Meals on Wheels. He had been a member of the Lincoln Union REA Board from 1990 to 2001, serving as Treasurer from 1993-96 and Vice-President 1997-98. He was involved in the Lincoln County Planning and Zoning Board and Heartland Energy Board serving as Treasurer. He also served on the Centerville Good Samaritan Board, the FHA board and Lincoln County 4-H board.

He leaves his beloved wife Kay; his son Aaron and his wife Dua of Beresford; a daughter Ashley of Mankato; and three grandchildren Elise, Howard, and Harrison. He is survived by his parents Roy and Gertie of Beresford and a brother Terry and his wife Randi of Morrison, CO. He is survived by his in-laws Bill and Jean Fuller of Sioux Falls, Keith and Paula Roskens of Blue Springs, MO, Lori Wood and Terry Olson of Rapid City, SD and Cindy Klick of Highlands Ranch, CO. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. Ron was preceded in death by his son Brian, his brother John.

Funeral services will be held at Brooklyn Evangelical Free Church in Beresford at 1pm on Saturday, February 12, 2011 with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6PM to 8PM with a prayer service at 7PM at the church.
