Roger L. Graham was born August 10, 1928 in South Dakota to Myron and Jeanette (Anderson) Graham. He died July 25, 2014 at Bethesda of Beresford at the age of 85 years, 11 months and 15 days. He was raised on the family farm northeast of Beresford, attending Silver Lake country school and graduating from Beresford High School. Roger served in the US Army in the Korean War and following his honorable discharge he returned to the Beresford area where he farmed for several years. He then moved to Sioux Falls and was employed at John Morrell Co. before he married Delores Docken on September 21, 1952. They made their home in Beresford where they raised their three children. Roger worked at the Beresford Post Office for 28 years. Following his retirement he and Delores continued to live in Beresford. He was an active member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church for over 50 years, and he liked gardening and following the Minnesota Twins. Roger and Delores enjoyed traveling and seeing the United States. He is survived by his daughter, Lezlee Graham of Sioux Falls; two sons, Dan Graham of Spearfish and Dave (Lin) Graham of Beijing, China; four granddaughters, April (Darren) Mellito, Ashley Finch, Amber Stene and Claire Graham; three great-grandchildren, Maddox and Riley Whelan and Greyson Stene; brother, Russel (Ann Lynn) Graham of Beresford; sister, Janice (Richard) Hanson of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada and sister-in-law, Jo Graham of Beresford. His wife, Delores; son James, at birth; his parents and two brothers, Donald and George Graham preceded him in death. Funeral services will be 10AM Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Beresford. Visitation will be 2-8PM Wednesday at Wass Funeral Home in Beresford with the family present from 6-8PM.
