ROBIN "ROB" JOSEPH LERSETH was born to Ronald and Bernice (Stewart) Lerseth on December 24, 1955 at Sioux Valley Hospital, Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  He attended 8 years at Hayward Elementary School in Sioux Falls, SD.  He graduated from Garretson High School in 1974.  He graduated from Northwest Iowa Vocational School in Sheldon, Iowa.

Rob was baptized at Roseni Lutheran Church, rural Beresford, South Dakota, confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls.  He was a charter member of Peace Lutheran Church.  He married Cathy Koens on January 17, 1976.  They were the proud parents of Cynthia Rae, born November 28, 1978. Later, after their divorce, he married Carol Schaffer on March 25, 1995.  On October 29, 2002 his granddaughter, Emily Hope was born.

Rob worked for Tessiers, Inc. in Sioux Falls before moving to California in 1980.  He was employed at Therma, Linford Corp. and other Sheet Metal contractors in the San Francisco Bay area.  In 2003 he was recruited by Southland Industries to move to Honolulu, Hawaii to do the detailing for the construction of John A. Burns School of Medicine.  In 2018 he retired from the Sheet Metal Union and moved to Sioux Falls, SD.  He passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2023.

Rob is survived by his wife, Carol, Sioux Falls, SD, his daughter Cynthia (David) Porter and granddaughter, Emily, all of Tracy, California.  He is also survived by his mother, Bernice Lerseth, his sister, Heidi (Larry) Kraayenbrink, his brother, Brent (Sonya) Lerseth all of Sioux Falls, SD, brothers, Scott (Melanie) Lerseth of Pierre, SD, and Troy (Tony) Lerseth of Laguna Niguel, CA, a sister-in-law, Cathy (David) Cheadle, Belton, Texas, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

He is preceded in death by his father, Ronald Lerseth, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Betty Schaffer, his grandfathers and grandmothers, Joseph and Myrtle Lerseth and Everett and Violet Stewart, a brother-in-law, a cousin, uncles and aunts.

Memorial services are being planned for this Spring at Peace Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls. We will update this page with the date and time once scheduled.
