Robert Lee Gregory was born March 2, 1970 in McCook, NE to parents Bill and Elsie Gregory. He died May 26, 2015 at the VA Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 45 years, 2 months and 24 days. As a youth, Robert was active in little league baseball, Teen Missions International, cross country, track, and his local church. Robert graduated from Gering High School in Gering, NE, joined the Marine Corps in 1988 and later joined the US Navy. Robert married Camille Rasmussen in June of 1989. They made their home in California, Nebraska, and finally South Dakota. Robert found his true passion in music. He played many instruments, but favored the guitar. He played, sang and wrote several Christian songs and he played in many churches and venues around the area. He was a member of the American Legion in Hudson and Canova. He was also an active member of the Faith Fellowship Church in Vermillion. Robert was well known for his music, humor, and his deep inspirational love and following of Jesus. His is survived by his wife, Camille Gregory; his children, William (Katie) Gregory and Kaycie (Zachary) Sterling; two grandsons, Layne Gregory and Kai Mayo; his parents, Bill and Elsie Gregory; sister Angie (Dan) Kress; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends who were all grateful to share in his life. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Esther Duysen and Kenneth and Iona Gregory and Leonard Smalley; and his uncles, Steve and Timothy Gregory. Funeral services will be held 2PM, Monday, June 1, 2015 at Brooklyn Evangelical Free Church with burial to follow at Gothland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
