Robert "Bob" A. Erck was born February 21, 1970 in Delmont, South Dakota to Rolan and Donna (Voss) Erck. He unexpectedly departed his heaven on Earth, for his heavenly home on Saturday, September, 26, 2020.
Bob graduated from Tripp High School, Tripp SD in 1988. He then attended Minnesota West Tech School in Canby, MN. Following school Bob worked various jobs in Sioux Falls before beginning a career driving over the road as a truck driver.
In 1992, Bob married Jeannie (Jastram) Dubbelde and they were blessed with a son, Cade Erck. In 1995, Bob was united in marriage to Bethany Horner and they were blessed with a son, Chance Erck.
Bethany joined Bob in the truck and together they drove for Alvin Ellefson, Dakota Carriers, and later owned and operated Erck Trucking. Together they got to see this country from one end to the other. In 2009, Bob began operating his mobile auto leather and vinyl repair business, Damage Control, which he operated until his passing.
Bob's steadfast love of God and his family, his integrity, and his ability to design, build, or fix anything he decided to will long be remembered by all who knew him. His to-do list was a mile and a half long, and done at 100 miles per hour. He was always full steam ahead, and you rarely saw him not dressed for work. Whether that be for his clients, or for his family, Bob was always ready to lend a hand. You would almost always find Bob in his well-worn work boots, jeans and one of his favorite sleeveless shirts. He was happiest when he and his family and friends enjoyed time together on his farm, especially when everyone was working together on a project. The only time you'd find him sitting still was when he was enjoying the sunset with his family and friends on the front porch. We know his views are much better now.
Bob is survived by his wife Bethany and his sons Cade and Chance. He is also survived by his mother Donna (Voss) Erck of Sioux Falls, his sister Londa (Brian) Dewald of Lisle, IL; his brothers Bill (Lisa) Erck of Brandon and Jim (Paula) Erck of Tea. He will be remembered and adored by six nieces and nephews: Elizabeth and Zach Dewald, Tyler and Emily Erck, and Eathen and Emersyn Erck. He is also survived by Bethany's parents, Dan & Jan Horner, along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who love him.
Bob was preceded in death by his father, Rolan Erck, two infant siblings, infant nieces and nephews and his grandparents, William and Mabel Voss and Arthur and Elizabeth Erck.
