Robert Oyer Bonine was born October 1, 1919 at Sioux City, IA to parents Sylvenus C. and Gertrude M. (Roberts) Bonine. He died October 15, 2007 at the Sanford Vermillion Hopsital at the age of 88 years and 14 days. Robert attended Brooklyn rural school. He married Audrey Josephine Eakman on Decmeber 23, 1939 at Sisseton, SD. Robert was a lifelong farmer. He was raised, resided on and operated a farm in Lincoln County that was homesteaded by his grandparents, William and Emily Bonine, in 1873. Robert moved to the Good Samaritan Center in Centerville in 2005 and lived there until the present time. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Edwin and brother Donald. He is survived by his wife Audrey of Beresford; son Alan Bonine and wife Carol of Sioux Falls; daughter Carolyn Verly Carlson and husband John of Marshall, MN; 4 grandchildren: Greg Verly and wife Lynn of Ruthton, MN, David Verly of Kansas City, MO; Tod Hartman and wife Connie of Sioux Falls and Troy Hartman and wife Kim of Penngrove, CA; 8 great grandchildren: Ashley and Brandon Verly, and Ashley, Tim, Cody, Hannah, Emma, and Tess Hartman; and many other relatives and friends.
