Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM Monday, December 11, 2023 at Wass Funeral Chapel in Centerville, SD with Rev. Kurt Laskowsky officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in rural Meckling, SD.

Rita A. Bielau Jorgensen Weeldreyer was born May 17, 1937 in Viborg, South Dakota to Otto and Lydia (Eberhardt) Bielau. She died November 9, 2023 at the Centerville Care & Rehab Center in Centerville, South Dakota at the age of 86 years, five months and 22 days.

Rita was raised on the family farm and graduated from Centerville High School in 1955. She attended Stewart School in Sioux Falls and was a beautician for her career. Rita worked as a beautician in Viborg and eventually moved her shop to her farm near Meckling, SD.

Her love of animals was always evident on her farm. Rita raised and cared for her milk cows, a horse, a donkey, and geese. She also loved to sew for many years.

She is survived by her brother, Raymond Bielau of Centerville, a niece, two nephews and several great-nieces and nephews. Her parents and two husbands, Andrew Jorgensen and Roger Weeldreyer, preceded her in death.
