Ricky Lee Ebsen was born February 6, 1962 in Hawarden, Iowa to Wayne and Marjorie (Nelson) Ebsen. He died at his home in Vermillion, South Dakota April 9, 2021 at the age of 59 years.

Ricky graduated from Vermillion High School and attended Springfield Vo-Tech until it closed. He then attended Canby Tech. He worked as a custodian in the Dome at USD in Vermillion for 20 years and was an over the road truck driver. Rick married Phyllis Williamson on April 9, 1992. He was working for Midwest Pilot Car at the time of his death.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Rick will be remembered as always having time to talk and was willing to help friends and family whenever he could. He was known as "Bubba" to his many friends.

Grateful for having shared in his life is his wife of 29 years, Phyllis Ebsen and step-daughter, Ann Williamson of Centerville, SD; brother, Steve (Helen) Ebsen of Sioux City, IA; sister, Valerie (John) Zweifel of Beresford, SD; brother-in-law, Garold (Louise) Williamson of Centerville, SD; step-mother, Mardell "Toots" Husby-Ebsen of Vermilion, SD and many cousins, nieces and nephews. His parents, Wayne and Marjorie Ebsen preceded him in death along with father-in-law, Herman and mother-in-law, Theodora "Teddy" Williamson.

Memorial service will be 2:00PM on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at First Baptist Church, 101 East Main Street, Vermillion, SD with burial to follow at Dalesburg Baptist Cemetery. The service will be live streamed on Facebook - First Baptist Church Vermillion. Visitation with the family present will be one hour before the memorial service.
