Rick "Rudy" Pingrey was born March 15, 1955 in Viborg, SD to parents Sheldon and Joyce (Edman) Pingrey. He passed away on July 19, 2012 at the age of 57 years. Rudy graduated from Centerville High School in 1973 and attended Nettleton College in Sioux Falls. Rudy sold insurance for a few years and was bookkeeper at the Centerville Co-op. He married Joyce Forell October 13, 1989 in Chamberlain, and were blessed with their son, Ryan in 1991. He was an Office Manager for Simplot Soil Builders in Beresford for the past 24 years. The foremost love of his life was his family, playing softball with the Chubs and fishing with his buddies. Rudy was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2010 and with his positive attitude he was able to enjoy two years with the people he loved most for Christmas, Easter, his 57th birthday, Father's Day and the 4th of July celebration. Rudy is survived by his wife, Joyce and son, Ryan of Lennox; his favorite sister, Kim (Loren) Kaufman of Freeman; brother, Scott (Kristie) Pingrey of Centerville; step-mother, Roberta Pingrey and mother-in-law, Alta Forell both of Chamberlain; brothers-in-law, Dan (Ruth) Forell of Vancouver, WA and Chuck (Dawnita) Forell of Pierre, SD; sister-in-law, Judy Sharples of Sand Point, ID; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents and father-in-law, O.K. Forell. Rudy, we are not ready to let you go yet, but God has other plans that we cannot change. We love you and we will all miss you. The family has chosen to give the gift of sight by donating Rudy's corneas through the South Dakota Lions Eye Bank.
