Richard was an avid history buff, enjoyed daily crossword and jigsaw puzzles, reading and watching sports, especially the Nebraska Cornhuskers!  Dick also had a very special relationship with his nephew Todd Anderson.  Bev and Dick enjoyed many trips to Hawaii over the years and have spent the last 14 winters as "Snowbirds" in Mesa Arizona.  Richard was also a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls.

Richard is survived by his wife Beverly, daughter Kristi Kay (John) Hermann of Castle Rock, CO; 2 grandsons Christian and Noah Hermann; his sister Deb (Bob) Boomgarden of Fulda, MN; Ray Angelillo (Kathy) of Fresno, CA and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Phyllis Boom and his sister Kathy Angelillo.
