Memorial services for Rene Kritz will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008 at Dalesburg Lutheran Church, rural Beresford. Nellie Rene Lorene Kritz was born February 8, 1918 in Granby, Missouri to parents, William Harris and Maude Mae (Miracle) Birkes. She died January 9, 2008 in Beresford, South Dakota at the age of 89 years, 11 months and 1 day. Rene graduated from Midway High School in Newtonia, Missouri, attended Kansas State College in Hays, KS and is a graduate of Medical Record Association in Chicago, IL. She married John Kritz September 1, 1939. Rene was a medical record administrator for many years, working and living in Hayes, KS, Kingman, AZ and Medford, OR. She was a member of the American Association of Medical Records, the Episcopal Church from 1953 to 1986, and the First Presbyterian Church since 1986. Rene loved to travel anywhere she could. She also spent a lot of time reading anything, often times about places she never got to see. Survivors include her daughter, Julie Dean and her husband, Richard of Centerville; five grandchildren, Scott (Kinney) of Raleigh, NC, Jennifer of Sioux Falls, Trish (Ken) of Yankton, Jennifer (Nelson) of Raleigh, NC and Shane of Yankton; eight great-grandchildren, Ciera, Nicole, Brittany, Becky, McKenzie, Kendall, Parker and Jaedyn; one sister, Virginia Furry. Her parents, four brothers, and two sisters, preceded her in death. The family requests memorials to Dalesburg Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
