Funeral services for Reginald Stone will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2009 at Wass Funeral Home in Beresford. Visitation will be Friday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A prayer service will be at 7:00 p.m. and the family will be present from 7:00-8:00 p.m.

Reginald J. Stone was born May 1, 1919 in Beresford, South Dakota to parents Joseph and Ruth (Beach) Stone. He died January 21, 2009 at Bethesda of Beresford at the age of 89 years, eight months and 20 days.

Reginald was raised on a farm south of Beresford and attended school in Beresford. He married Lorene Anderson August 16, 1941 in Beresford. The couple farmed until 1956 when they moved to California for two years. They returned to Beresford and again moved to Sunnyvale, California where Reginald worked for Lockheed Missile from 1962 until 1965.

They lived in Beresford until they moved to Sioux Falls in 1969. Reginald worked as an assembly worker at Jordan Millwork and also at Ace Hardware until his retirement in 1984. He enjoyed doing woodworking projects. Following Lorenes death April 30, 1999, Reginald moved into Bethesda.

Survivors include his two daughters, Sharlene (Glenn) Nelson of Sioux Falls and Ruby (Donald) Ness of Magazine, AR; one sister, Betty Kunz of Sioux Falls; three granddaughters, Tamara Nelson, Tracy (Ray) Sveeggen and their children, Keisha, Korissa and Kamrynn and Tanya (Kelly) Petterson and their children, Laura and Andrew, and a special niece, Marabeth (Frank) Kumm.

His parents, wife, sister, and grandson preceded him in death.
