IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Regan W.
Pearson
September 23, 1950 – November 20, 2024
Regan Wendell Pearson was born September 23, 1950 in Hawarden, Iowa to Wendell and Carol (Johnson) Pearson. He died November 20, 2024 at Ava's House in Sioux Falls at the age of 74 years, one month and 27 days.
Regan, nicknamed "Bopper" was the eldest of four children and "highly energetic" according to his mother. He attended Elmwood Country School and graduated from Alcester High School. Regan liked to tinker with cars and having owned a 1957 Chevy, he graduated from auto mechanic school in Omaha before joining the US Army. He met Linda Vander Helm the same month he shipped out to Germany for 12 months. After his discharge, he returned to South Dakota and married Linda in 1975 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawarden. They married on May 3rd, Linda's birthday, so he couldn't forget their anniversary date.
Regan worked in heavy equipment for 50 years. He was the Big Springs Township maintainer operator. In 1979 he started his own business, Pearson Dirt Construction. With his bulldozer he built many of the field terraces around Alcester and water dams for area farmers. In his younger years Regan liked to hunt and fish. Regan was a member of the Land Improvement Contractors and volunteered with the Alcester Fire & Rescue for 25 years. He will be remembered listening to 60s and 70s rock and roll music loudly.
His father preceded him in death.
Regan is survived by his wife of 49 years, Linda Pearson; two sons, Corey Pearson and Jessica and Collin Pearson and Stacy; his mother, Carol Pearson; two sisters, Joan (Jim) Ahart and Sharon (Randy) Weisser; younger brother, Dale (Karen) Pearson; three granddaughters, Jada, Jaylsa, and Jerika; and one great-grandson, Briggs all of Alcester.
Memorial services will be 2PM Monday, November 25, 2024 at Nathanael Lutheran Church in Alcester. Visitation will be 12:30-2PM Monday at the church.
