Funeral services for Ragna Knutson will be held 2PM Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at Scandia Lutheran Church in Centerville. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2PM to 8PM with family present from 7PM to 8PM at Wass Funeral Home in Centerville. Ragna Johanna Knutson was born November 13, 1913 in Centerville, SD to parents William and Hilborg (Melos) Jacobsen. She died July 8, 2006 at the Pioneer Memorial Nursing Home in Viborg, SD at the age of 92 years, 7 months and 27 days. Ragna graduated from Irene High School in 1932. She married Glenn Knutson in her parents home in Irene, SD on March 4, 1936. The couple farmed near Centerville and had 4 children. Ragna and Glenn celebrated 70 years of marriage this past spring. Ragna was baptized in the Lutheran faith and was confirmed at Turkey Valley Lutheran Church near Irene where she was an active member of the Luther League. She later joined Immanuel Lutheran Church and taught Sunday School for 38 years, served as Sunday School superintendent, and was a member of the Ladies Aid. Ragna was currently a member at Scandia Lutheran Church. Ragna was a charter member of the Frog Creek Birthday Club. She enjoyed growing and caring for flowers. She was an excellent seamstress and was talented at many handicrafts. She liked puzzles, board games and watching the Minnesota Twins. Ragnas family and faith were the highlights of her life and she will be dearly missed by her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter Yvonne. Her survivors include her husband Glenn Knutson of Centerville; daughter Charlene Wolsky and husband Dave of Watertown; 2 sons: Bill Knutson and wife Judy of Centerville and Glyndon Knutson and wife Mary of Centerville; 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
