Quinten Heiman, 84, died Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Avantara Salem in Salem, SD. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, September 24 at Peace Lutheran Church in Alcester, SD. Visitation will begin one hour prior to services.

Quinten Heiman was born March 8, 1935 on the family farm in Union County, SD to Earl and Marie (Busch) Heiman. He attended Ring country school and graduated from Alcester High School. He was baptized and confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church.

Quinten was drafted into the United States Army where he served 2 years, as Chef. Following his honorable discharge, he returned back to the family farm where he worked various jobs in the Alcester area. He moved to Vivian, SD until entering the nursing home in 2013.

Quinten will be remembered for his love of animals, especially dogs. He also enjoyed popcorn, ice cream, farm work and bowling.

Quinten is survived by his sister, Beverly Fickbohm and her husband, Daryl, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Burdette and Vergene; and two sisters-in-law, Margaret and Corrine.
