Phllis Blumer was born November 1, 1915 in Union County, SD to parents Earl and Minnie Uecker Blumer. She died July 27, 2015 at Bethesda Nursing Home in Beresford, SD at the age of 99 years. Phyllis attended rural school, graduated from Beresford High School and Nettleton Business School in Sioux Falls. Phyllis worked at the Land Bank in Beresford and then for a lawyer in Elk Point. The lawyer was appointed as a federal judge in Aberdeen so Phyllis moved there and worked as his assistant. She later moved to Rapid City to be with her sister Doris. The two of them eventually moved back to Beresford and Phyllis has resided here until the present time. Phyllis enjoyed doing handicrafts and was exceptionally skilled in needle point. She and Doris had many collections including, dolls, teddy bears, and treasures too numerous to mention. God bless her memory. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Doris Armell and her brother Herbert Blumer. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. At the request of Phyllis, there will be no services at this time. She will be laid to rest in the Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Beresford, SD.
