Pearl Lewison was born October 27, 1911 in Union County, South Dakota to parents John and Anna (Johnson) Eden. She passed away peacefully on July 26, 2011 at Bethesda Nursing Home in Beresford, SD at the age of 99 years, 8 months and 29 days. Pearl attended Dodd rural school. On August 12, 1930 she married Albert Lewison in Canton, SD. The couple farmed in Union County before moving to Beresford in 1952. She became a resident of Bethesda Nursing Home in 1999. In August of 2000 Pearl and Albert celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary with their entire extended family attending from many states. An early birthday celebration was held this past week on July 23 to honor Pearl who would have reached her 100th birthday in October. We will miss you Pearl, rest in peace. Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters Gertrude Eden, Johanna DeWall, Mabel DeWall, brother Harry Eden, son-in-law Arnold Hass and daughter-in-law Kathy Lewison. Her survivors include five children, Marlys (Bill) Anderson of Sioux Falls, Ardis Hass of Rapid City, Clinton "Bud" (Beverly) Lewison, Sioux Falls, Eldeen Lewison, Janesville, WI and Larry (June) Lewison, Beresford; 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 9 great, great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 10:00AM, Saturday, July 30 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Beresford with burial at Peace Lutheran Cemetery, rural Alcester. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
