Paul Albert Zweifel was born on the family farm at Beresford, SD on June 22, 1935 to Walter and Violet (Pike) Zweifel.  He passed away June 7, 2022 at the age of 86 years. He attended Silver Lake Country School and began farming with his father at the age of 14.  Paul married Beverly Lakness on March 13, 1955.  They were blessed with two daughters, Connie and Cheryl.

Farming the land was Paul's life, but he always found time for his favorite activities of hunting and fishing.  After farming for many years, Paul worked at the Beresford Co-Op Service Association delivering bulk refined fuels to area farmers and families for 10 years.  In 1989 Paul moved to Springfield, SD to a home by the Missouri River, which he loved.

Many hours were spent sitting on the porch enjoying the river view, watching wildlife, feeding the birds and pampering his three cats, Sam, Samantha and Yellow.  He spent many days making canes from diamond willow.  Paul was very proud of the rock walls he built at his river home. Paul always said "I have left my mark on the world."

Paul is survived by his daughter Cheryl (Warren) Drew, Centerville, SD, grandson Greg (Kristen) Birgen, and great-grandchildren Landon and Emma Birgen of Centerville, SD.  His siblings, Lowell Zweifel (Karen Watson), Yankton, SD; Lois (Charles) Norling, Beresford SD; Wayne (Carol) Zweifel, Mooresville, SC; Esther (David) Larsen, Beresford SD, Warren Zweifel, Sioux Falls, SD; Shirley (Edmundo) Sessman, Hacienda Heights, CA; Jean (Greg) Puls, Sioux Falls, SD; Jana (Robert) Vacek, Sioux Falls, SD; Sharron (Greg) Larson, Beresford, SD; and Jerry (Adrianna) Zweifel, Reno, NV., several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Those who so loved and cherished their lives with Paul are his very special friend Margaret Konrad, Springfield, SD and her family: Robert (Cathy) Konrad and their children, Addison, Isabel, Eloise, and Emelia, Pierre, SD; Daniel Konrad, Tripp, SD; Michael (Angela) Konrad and their children Cora and Jocelyn, Sioux Falls, SD.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother Laura Zweifel, daughter Connie, brother James, nieces Kayla Larson and Laura Beam and nephew Tyler Vacek.

Visitation will be held at Wass Funeral Home, Beresford, SD, on Friday June 10th from 5 PM to 7 PM, with a short service at 7 PM.  Family visitation at 4 PM. Burial will be Saturday, June 11 ^th , 10 AM at Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
