Patricia Anne Weeks, born March 21, 1934 in rural Centerville to Harold and Ella (Bennington) Holmberg. Her mother passed away when she was 2-years old and she was raised by her grandparents, Fred and Lena Holmberg. She attended rural Morning Star school and graduated from Centerville High school in 1952. She married Harrison Weeks June 9, 1952 and lived on the family farm until 1991. From this union 7 children were born; Debbra, George (Lynn), Ella, Brian, Joni, Catherine and Mary. Patricia was an active member of the Eastern Star for 24 years where she held the position of organist for many of those years. She was a member at the Centerville United Church of Christ where she spent over 50 years as the organist. She played the organ for many funerals and weddings throughout the community. Along with raising her 7 children, she worked in the dietary department at Centerville Good Samaritan Center, Pioneer Memorial Hospital, Sunset Manor and Wakonda Heritage Manor. Patty enjoyed preparing family dinners, spending time with her family and friends. Family and relatives meant the world to Patty. She enjoyed decorating and entertaining during her favorite holidays of Easter and Christmas. She loved to visit her kids and this required traveling. Patty and Harrison always enjoyed themselves when they traveled to California, Switzerland, Wisconsin and Texas. Patty loved to shop and especially loved her shoes, purses and trying out new restaurants. Whenever mom had a bad day she would always go and play her organ and this would make her day a brighter one. In the last two years Patty has been a resident at Pioneer Memorial Nursing Home due to health reasons. She enjoyed watching the activity outside her room and the staff that helped care for her. She is survived by her husband, Harrison; their 7 children, Debbra (Jim) Gacke of Harrisburg, George (Jody) Weeks of Ontario, CA, Ella (Mark) Odland of Centerville, Brian (Kenda) Weeks of Tea, Joni Weeks of Switzerland, Catherine (Jan) Petersen of LaCrescent, MN and Mary (Mike) Mohr of Beresford; fourteen grandchildren, including 7 granddaughters, Emily Nilson, Allison Mohr, Kayleen Barcot, Teresa Crow, Jalona Gillette, Isabella Valsecchi, Francesca Valsecchi and 7 grandsons, Matt Gacke, Andy Gacke, Neil Odland, Shon Nilson, Christopher Mohr, Carlo Valsecchi, Jeremy Risty; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
