Mass of Christian Burial for Patti Johnson will be 10AM Wednesday, Dec. 23rd at St. Teresa Catholic Church in Beresford. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-8PM at the church with a prayer service at 7PM.

Patricia A. Johnson was born April 13, 1960 in Sioux Falls, SD to Carl and Mary Ann (Ripperda) Selken. She died December 21, 2009 in Sioux Falls at the age of 49 years, eight months and eight days.

She was raised in Larchwood, Iowa where she attended St. Marys Catholic grade school and graduated from West Lyon High School in 1978. Patti graduated from Southeast Technical in Sioux Falls with a degree in advertising and floral design. After graduating from Southeast she worked at Young and Richards in Sioux Falls. Patti married Daniel Johnson May 31, 1980 in Larchwood, IA. She ran a daycare for 11 years before working at Kellys Every Bloomin Thing where she was manager for two years. Patti then worked for Fireball Decal in Centerville prior to getting her job with the City of Beresford where she worked ten years, most recently in the telephone and cable television office.

Patti enjoyed flowers, art and gardening. She will be remembered for loving and caring for her family and grandchildren. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, the Altar Society and her church choir.

Survivors include the love of her life, Daniel Johnson of Beresford; daughters, Stephanie (Jesse) Voss of Parkston, Erin Johnson of Beresford; sons, Michael and Matthew Johnson both of Beresford; five grandchildren, Kasen and Brynn Voss, Jace and Jaxon Gray and Lilly Johnson; and parents, Carl and Mary Ann Selken of Larchwood. Also surviving are her brothers, Tim (Bonnie) Selken of Sioux City, Mike (Stacey) Selken of Sioux Falls, Scott (Karen) Selken of Oakland, NE and Tom (Charlene) Selken of Fort Collins, CO; sisters, Julie (Dave) Moes of Sioux Falls, Kay Billam of Sioux Falls, Susan (Jeremy) Jensen of Cherokee, IA and Amy (Terrin) Haggerty of Sioux Falls.

Her brother, Dennis Selken, preceded her in death.
