Patricia Ann Chadwell, died Monday, January 24, 2022, at her home in Beresford, SD at the age of 81 years.  Celebration of Life services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 27 at the United Church of Christ, Beresford, SD.  Visitation will be held from 5:30-7:00 PM on Wednesday, January 26 at Wass Funeral Home, Beresford, SD.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Beresford Elementary, Patty Chadwell Fund, 209 S. 4 ^th Street, Beresford, SD, 57004.

Patricia was born March 27, 1940 in Stubenville, OH to James and Annie Edna (Fairman) Lescallette.  She graduated from Follansbee High School in Follansbee, WV in 1958.  At a senior high school dance, she met her future husband, Dean Chadwell.  Dean was in college and would hitchhike to visit Patty as much as possible.  They were married September 2, 1958 and were blessed with 3 children, Deborah, Anne and Robert.

Patricia attended Akron University then received her Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from the University of Illinois at Springfield.  She was an elementary teacher for 1 ^st and 2 ^nd grades in the Lewisville School District in Texas.  She truly loved teaching and loved the children.  She was compassionate and was drawn to the children that needed extra support.

Dean and Patricia enjoyed living in many different states over the years.  After retiring in Dallas, TX, they moved to South Dakota.  They both volunteered at the Beresford Elementary School where Patty would assist with reading and crafts.    She loved reading and spending time in her flower garden with her roses.  She was active in the GFWC where she served as State President.   Patty was dedicated to her home, her husband, her children and loved to spoil her grandchildren.  Her family will miss her love, compassion and her feisty spirit.

She is survived by Dean, her husband of 63 ½ years; her daughters, Deborah (Peter J.) Morowski, Montgomery, TX, and Anne (Karl) Bottesini, Vermillion, SD; her grandchildren, Peter D. (Carolyn) Morowski, Michael (Alisha) Morowski, Anna Bottesini and Erin Bottesini; great-grandchildren, Peter L., Zoey and Grayson; and her sister, Mary Brown, Wausau, WI.  She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Chadwell, her parents, James and Annie "Edna" Lescallette, and her brother, Jimmie Lescallette.
