Norma Vera O'Hara was was born in a house in Parker, SD on December 8, 1935 to parents Alfred and Vera (Cassens) Letsche. She passed away on July 20, 2023 at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls of natural causes.

She and Wayne Joesph O'Hara were married on September 19, 1953 into a union that lasted 60 years. Wayne's service took them as far as Kansas, Germany, South Carolina and Missouri, though the majority of the years they settled in the Beresford area. During that time Norma raised five children all being very grateful to her for everything it took just getting them where they needed to go, and the work a mother does.

Norma was a member of various organizations where she played the organ for 25 years at First English Lutheran Church in Centerville, SD. Norma also played the accordion and piano in various nursing homes and was often asked to play the organ and piano for funerals and weddings. But most of all she loved nature, being outdoors which included gardening, riding horses and traveling and spending time with her family.

She is survived by two sons Merlyn (Linda) O'Hara Beresford, Kirk and (Dawn) O'Hara Crestview, FL; one daughter Pam and (Paul) Baker Kansas City, MO; two Sisters Janice and (Joe) Gordon, Marion Twiggs, four brothers, Gerald Letsche, Gary and (Grace) Letsche, Vincent Letsche, Verlyn and (Debbie) Letsche, 10 Grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wayne, daughter Linda Thwing, son Clifford O'Hara, and great-grandson Mark O'Hara Jr.
