Nona Ada (Walker) Herrboldt, 88, passed away peacefully at the Alcester Care & Rehab Center on June 16, 2021.

Nona and her twin sister, Noma, were born in Olivet, SD on April 8 ^th and 9 ^th , 1933 to George and Erma (Boegler) Walker. She grew up on the family farm north of Olivet and graduated from Menno High School in May of 1951. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Alfred Herrboldt, on July 27, 1951. From this union they were blessed with four children, two sons and two daughters; Rod (Karla) of Bakersfield, CA, Mike (Sandy) of Gray, TN, Colleen (Chuck) Green of Alcester, SD and Tina Rollings of Alcester, SD.

Nona always enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, crafting and her crocheting, which she taught many people to do. She enjoyed volunteering at the care center with Bingo and delivering Meals on Wheels. But most of all, she loved being with her grandkids and great-grandkids.

She is survived by her husband, Alfred, of almost 70 years, sons, Rod and Mike; daughters, Colleen and Tina; an adopted daughter of the heart, Mary (Tony) Albert of Medford, OR; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, her twin sister, Noma (Jack) Sayler; many cousins, nieces, nephews, loving relatives and friends. Preceding her in death are her parents, George and Erma Walker, brothers, Laurel and Royce, and her sister, Ocal.

Following private inurnment at Eden Cemetery in Hudson, SD a memorial service will be at 11AM Monday, June 21, 2021 at the Alcester United Church of Christ with Rev. Penny Nance officiating. Memorials may be directed to the Alcester UCC, the Woman's Group of the Alcester UCC or to the Bergstrom Bodeen American Legion Post in Hudson, SD.
