Morris Robert Peter Larsen, 85, of Beresford, South Dakota, passed away on January 17, 2025, at the Centerville Care and Rehab Center.

Born on September 26, 1939, on the farm south of Alsen, South Dakota; Morris was the son of Wesley and Florence (Strom) Larsen. He was baptized and confirmed at Dalesburg Lutheran Church and received his education at Brule Country School before graduating from Beresford High School in 1957.

Morris worked at a Chevrolet assembly plant in Janesville, Wisconsin, to save money to pursue his passion for farming. He returned to South Dakota and began raising grain and cattle south of Beresford. In addition to farming, Morris became a Cargill seed dealer.

On July 17th, 1965  Morris married Linda Fray, and together they raised their two children, Randy and Melissa.  Linda preceded him in death in 1990 after suffering a long illness.

On June 8th, 1991 Morris married Connie Smith, and the couple made their home in Beresford. Morris continued farming until his retirement in 2013.

Morris was known for his love of tractor pulling, a sport in which he actively competed, traveling to various contests with family and friends. He won many trophies throughout his career and retired as the #1 puller in South Dakota.

A devoted family man, Morris enjoyed visiting and having coffee with friends. He was often seen with the radio tuned to WNAX.

Morris was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Linda;  his sister, Sharon Heinemann; and his brother-in-law, Charles Bingen.

He is survived by his wife, Connie Larsen; son, Randy Larsen of Omaha, NE; daughter, Melissa Larsen (Ed Cruz) of Elk Point, SD; brothers, David (Esther) Larsen of Beresford and Ronald (Jean) Larsen of Beresford; sister, Janice Bingen of Brookings; brother-in-law, Dave Heinemann of Dell Rapids; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at Wass Funeral Home, 301 N 3rd St, Beresford, SD, with a prayer service at 7:00 PM.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at Dalesburg Lutheran Church, 30595 University Rd, Vermillion, SD.
