Monroe J. Harders was born June 12, 1952 in Akron, IA to parents Melvin and Venice (Madsen) Harders. He died October 2, 2011 near Hudson, SD at the age of 59 years, 3 months and 21 days. Monroe graduated from Alcester High School and attended a technical school. He returned to the Alcester area and farmed until his retirement. Monroe loved cars. He enjoyed hot-rods and riding his three wheeler. Most of all he enjoyed socializing with his many friends and spent countless hours hanging out and visiting. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Michael, and his sister and nephew. His survivors include his special friend Connie; brother Mahlon and his wife Carolyn; a niece Kirsten and a nephew Matt; 6 great nieces and nephews; his daughter and four granddaughters, Cassidy Jean, Bailey Adriana, Morgan Renee and Jacey Elizabeth; many other relatives and friends; and his very special dog and companion Odie. Funeral services will be 10:00AM, Thursday, October 6, 2011 in the reception area of the Alcester Bowling Alley with visitation one hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Big Springs Baptist Cemetery, rural Alcester.
