Mildred Reierson, age 86, died Friday, January 26, 2007 at Bethesda of Beresford. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at Beresford Zion United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday with the family present from 6:00-8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Mildred OConnor was born February 5, 1920 in Union County, South Dakota to James and Ann (Muhlenkort) OConnor. She died January 26, 2007 at Bethesda of Beresford at the age of 86 years, 11 months and 21 days. Millie attended rural elementary schools, Mount Marty High School and Beresford High School. She married Warren Reierson on December 14, 1939 in Dixon County, Nebraska. The couple farmed in the Beresford area until their retirement, at which time they moved into Beresford. Millie worked at the Beresford Bakery, K and K Store and the Christensens IGA. Her hobbies included all types of crafts, dancing and bowling. She was a member of the Beresford Zion United Methodist Church. Millie is survived by one son, LaVerl Reierson and his wife Marlys of Arlington, SD; one daughter, Karen Jensen and her husband Danny of Beresford, SD; five grandchildren, Shelly (Eugene) Smits of Ferndale, WA, Terry (Laura) Jensen of Beresford, SD, Tammy (Paul) Gerhart of Sioux Falls, SD, Jimmy (Monica) Jensen of Beresford, SD and Stephanie (Trent) Damm of Arlington, SD; 8 great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and three step-great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a special nephew, Donald Reierson of Riverside, CA; one brother-in-law, Glen Kennedy of Beresford, SD; three half sisters, Pat Heggestad, Janice OConnor and Shirley OConnor all of Beresford, SD; one sister-in-law, Julia (Marvin) Cleland of Vermillion, SD and many other relatives and friends. Her parents; husband; one brother, Leonard OConnor; one sister, Kathryn Kennedy; and one step-granddaughter, Amanda Jensen preceded Millie in death.
