Marvin Palmer Nelson, 92 of Beresford, SD died Nov. 20, 2006 at McClung Assisted Living, rural Beresford. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25th at Romsdal Lutheran Church, rural Beresford. Visitation will be held from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday at Wass Funeral Home in Beresford with the family present from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Marvin was born April 21, 1914 in Beresford to parents Theodore and Margaret (Detmers) Nelson. He was raised on the family farm north of Beresford. Marvin attended Plainview #4 country school and graduated from Beresford High School. He married Lenore Lenning on June 11, 1935 at St. Petri Lutheran Church in Bruce, SD. Marvin farmed north of Beresford all his adult life. Lenore died Feb. 3, 1998. He enjoyed listening and dancing to Polka music. Survivors include his one son, Don (Karen) Nelson of Beresford; one daughter, Marcene Daggett-Kleese of Sioux Falls; four grandchildren, Craig Daggett, Scott Daggett, Travis Nelson and Kami Kruthoff; and six great-grandchildren, Jennifer and Staci Daggett, Megan and Becky Nelson and Olivia Ann and Isabella Kate Kruthoff. His parents and his wife preceded Marvin in death.
