Marilyn R. Lindblom was born September 4, 1932 at home in Clay County, South Dakota to Francis and Esther (Hanson) Mayer. She died May 21, 2018 at Bethesda of Beresford at the age of 85 years, eight months and 17 days.

Marilyn graduated from Wakonda High School and attended a year of college before marrying her high school sweetheart, Burdette Lindblom, on April 6, 1952. They lived and farmed in rural Wakonda where Marilyn raised their five children and was an insurance agent for Royal Neighbors of America.

In 1979 they moved to Vermillion, and when they had semi-retired in 1985, they moved to Arizona and lived there until 2006 when they moved to Sioux Falls. Following Burdette's death in 2007, Marilyn lived in Vermillion until she entered Bethesda of Beresford where she has resided since.

She is survived by her five children, Gayle (Shawn) Williams of Phoenix, AZ, Murray (Genie) Lindblom of Wakonda, SD, Wayne (Christine) Lindblom of Akron, OH, Lea (James) Cody of Sand Point, ID and Dorothy Lindblom of Sioux Falls, SD; 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Helen (Richard) White and Betty Crance all of Eugene, OR and Norma Empy of Eagle River, AK, and many nieces and nephews.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Warren Mayer and Eldon Pete Mayer and one sister, Vera Johnson.

Memorial services will be 10AM Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Dalesburg Baptist Church, rural Beresford, SD.
