On Monday, January 4, 2021, Margery Lou Smith, wife of Clifford Smith and mother of four children (and 10 grandchildren), went to be with the Lord at the age of 88.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, January 9 at Big Springs Baptist Church.  Margery's family asks you to please wear a mask.  Following the service, there will be a time of fellowship with her family at the church.

Margery was born December 30, 1932, at the farmhouse 7 miles south of Alcester, SD, to Ralph and Mary Johnson.  She graduated from Alcester High School and went to Bethel College in St. Paul, MN, where Marge met Clifford Smith.  Marge and Cliff were married in 1953 at Big Springs Baptist Church. They raised 3 sons (Rick, Steve, Lance) and 1 daughter (Jodi).

Marge received her teaching certificate from St. Cloud State and taught both in a Christian elementary school and in the field as a Wycliffe Bible Translator teacher in Brazil and Columbia.  She had a life-long passion for crafts and growing flowers. The farmhouse where she was raised became her own Better Homes & Gardens masterpiece upon retiring.  Marge loved Big Springs Baptist Church and was active there almost her entire life. Most of all, she loved the Lord.
