Obituary
Marcella Johnson was born March 25, 1920 to parents John and Nell (Van Derhule) Engman near Centerville, SD. She died April 20, 2010 at Bethesda Nursing Home in Beresford, SD at the age of 90 years and 25 days.
Marcella graduated from Irene High School and Southern State Teachers College at Springfield, SD. She was an elementary school teacher for 26 years. Marcella married Lloyd Johnson on April 2, 1949. The couple lived all 53 years of their married lives in Alsen, SD.
She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Beresford. Her hobbies and interests included needle crafts, reading and gardening. Music was a part of Marcellas life everyday as she spent many hours playing her electric organ.
Marcella was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother.
Survivors include many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00PM, Thursday, April 22 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Beresford, with burial at Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, rural Beresford. Visitation will be Thursday from 12:30PM to 2:00PM at the church.
