Jerry White, 66, passed away November 10, 2010 at Centerville after a long courageous battle with cancer.

Lyle Jerry White was born September 15, 1944 to Lyle and Marjane (Shogren) White. He graduated from Centerville High School in 1962 and then attended USD and USF. He married Mary Falk on April 4, 1964. They moved to an acreage near Centerville in 1966. For several years Jerry worked for construction companies in Sioux Falls, and then started farming in the mid 1970s. He enjoyed helping on the farm in recent years. Jerry was an active member of Komstad Covenant Church where he held several positions on the church board.

Those who survive and gratefully shared his life are his wife, Mary of Centerville; children, Michele (Doug) Norling of Centerville, Jeff (Lynn) White of Canton, Candice (Matt) Mueller of Harrisburg and Randy (Stacy) White of Sioux Falls; grandchildren, Amy Norling, Tim Norling, Shayla White, Jacob Mueller and Maya White; brother, Gene (Linda) White of Denver; nephew, Chris White of Denver; niece, Melissa Peterson of Denver; and cousins, Nadine Axlund of Sioux Falls and Charles Shogren of Omaha.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, Gaylon White and an infant grandson, Joseph Mueller.

Funeral services for Jerry will be 10AM Saturday, November 13, 2010 at Komstad Covenant Church in rural Beresford. Visitation will be 2-8PM Friday at Wass Funeral Home in Centerville with the family present from 5-7PM and a prayer service at 7PM.
