Lorna C. Hammer was born April 30, 1940 in Hudson, South Dakota to Lancelot and Clarice (Anderson) Sogn. She died unexpectedly April 17, 2021 at her home in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 80.

Lorna received her teaching degree at Madison, SD and taught at Gedstad Country School near Lennox, SD for three years before teaching in the Sioux Falls school system for 25 years. In 1972 Lorna married Darrel Lucht. Following his death, she married Elmer Hammer in 1996. Lorna worked at Citi-Bank for 25 years before retiring.

She was active at Skrefsrud Lutheran Church especially with the WMF and a member of the Sioux Falls Christian Women's. Lorna enjoyed neighborhood birthday parties, tending her flower garden and will be remembered for her monthly home decorations. She lived a wonderful life filled with faith, family and friends.

Her parents, two sisters, Marlys and Mary; and brother, Lance Eugene, preceded her in death.

Lorna is survived by her husband, Elmer Hammer; sister, Beverly (Lynn) Coleman of Canton; brother, Darrel (Carole) Sogn of Hudson; sister-in-law, Mary (Richard) Fossen of Billings, MT and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2PM Friday, April 23, 2021 at Skrefsrud Lutheran Church, 46920 292 ^nd Street, Beresford, SD with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be 5-7PM Thursday, April 22 ^nd at the church with a prayer service at 7PM.
