Linnea Charlotte Zetterlund was born July 24, 1918 in Sioux City, IA to parents Herman and Emma (Mossberg) Zetterlund. She died February 3, 2007 at the Bethesda Nursing Home in Beresford, SD at the age of 88 years, 6 months and 9 days. Linnea attended Newdale and Clay Point country schools and graduated from Beresford High School in 1936. She was baptized and confirmed in Dalesburg Lutheran Church of which she was a lifetime member. Linnea married Orin Peterson on March 4, 1939. To this union four daughters were born. Orin and Linnea farmed in Garfield Township until 1985 when they moved to Beresford. She was also a member of the Lutheran Church Women and a lifetime member of the Vermillion Senior Citizens Center. She was a devoted farm wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother: whose passion was baking, cooking, creating keepsakes and always devoting her time to others. She leaves to cherish her memory four daughters and spouses: Jeanette and Merlyn Darby, Joyce and Harold Van Der Wilt, all of Sioux Falls, Phyllis and Meril Tschudy of Beresford, Marlys and Ron Rauk of Beaver Creek, MN; Grandchildren: Craig (Jan) Darby, Dawn (Jeff) Forbes, Lori (Ajay) Pathania, Mike (Ramona) Tschudy, Scott Tschudy, Ryan (Gina) Rauk and Linnea Rauk; eleven great grandchildren; two sisters, Edith Ellison and Helen (Edgar) Resel and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Linnea was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Orin. Funeral services will be 10AM, Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at Dalesburg Lutheran Church, rural Vermillion. Visitation will be Monday from 2PM to 8PM with family present from 6PM to 8PM and a prayer service beginning at 7PM at Wass Funeral Home in Beresford.
