Linda Louise Stewart Quartier was born on November 4, 1947, in Wagner, SD, to parents Marvin and Louise (Reelfs) Stewart.  Linda passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at the age of 78 after a long battle with breast cancer.

Linda grew up in Wagner, SD, where she attended school. She married Roger Lee Quartier on March 11, 1964. They began their marriage on a ranch outside Avon, SD, then moved to Vermillion. In 1970, they relocated to Beresford, where they made their home.

Linda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother. Over the years Linda passed on her love by helping watch and raise numerous kids while doing childcare in her home. After her kids were in school, she started working for the Beresford School District in the kitchen and custodial duties. Linda took pride in and made many valuable connections at her other jobs at Coast to Coast, Fiesta Foods, and Kids Crossing Children's Center.

Linda was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Beresford and enjoyed singing in the church choir. In the summers, you could often find her riding on the fender of the tractor while Roger baled hay, mowing her lawn, relaxing on her porch swing, and doing chores at their farm. She took pride in her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them and attending as many of their sporting and school events as possible. She was 'grandma' to many kids who enjoyed her company when she came to school for lunch. Linda also made sure that lunch was made for Roger or for the grandkids to come over during their break. She is known for her Kuchen pie and 'Grandma Pancakes'. She also enjoyed visiting and going out with her friends and going on her daily walk. In the last 15 years, she had the opportunity to check many activities and trips off her bucket list and got to enjoy them with various family and friends.

Her survivors include her four children: Rhonda (Dan) Theel of Beresford, Renee Goltz of Beresford, Ramona (Mike) Tschudy of Harrisburg, Randy (Christina) Quartier of Beresford; 11 grandchildren: Wally Theel, Kristie (Reggie) Breshers, Jamie Theel, Victoria (Tom) Fertig, Ted Goltz, Tyler Goltz, Nicholas Tschudy, Monica Tschudy, Grace Quartier, Macy Quartier and Alexander Quartier; 6 great-grandchildren Logan, Natalie, Rya, Hailey, Zane, Oliver; sister Marilyn Larson of Lake Andes, SD; brother-in-law Richard (Barb) Quartier of Sioux Falls, SD; sister-in-law Caroline Quartier of Aurora, NE; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

She was greeted in heaven by her husband Roger, her parents Marvin and Louise, siblings Richard, Thelma, Wendell and Cletus Stewart.

Visitation will be 5-7PM on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at Wass Funeral Home, 301 N 3rd Street, Beresford, SD. Funeral services will be 11AM Thursday, Jan. 15th at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 101 S 5th Street, Beresford.
