Obituary

Leisa Ann Jensen 43, of Hudson, entered the Kingdom of Heaven, Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo, Iowa after an inspirational and courageous battle with cancer. She was born Sept 19, 1964 at Akron Hospital in Akron, Iowa, the daughter of Larry and Lorine (Hagen) Johnson. Leisa attended elementary and high school in Alcester, SD, graduating in 1983. She married Curtis Richard Jensen on Sept 1, 1984 and settled down in the Beresford community to farm. Leisa and Curtis had 4 children during their years on the farm. After a brief career in farming with her husband from 84-93, Leisa returned to college to take classes in business and pre-nursing, but her real love and focus was her Lord Jesus and taking care of her children and husband. Leisa held a quiet gentle spirit while here on Earth. Her focus in life was serving others and always caring for the people around her including friends and family before herself. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior in 1977, and in 2006 she and her husband jointly reaffirmed their faith. She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Curt of Hudson, IA; her children, Elizabeth (Dirk) Myhr of Waterloo, Charlotte, Nicholas, and Cristopher of Hudson, IA; her father, Larry (LaVonne) Johnson of Alcester, SD; one brother, Loren (Pam) Johnson of Rochester, MN; one sister, Lori (Lee) Johnson of Sioux Falls, SD; paternal grandmother, Dorothy E. Johnson of Alcester, SD; and a special sister in Christ, Becky Ellis of Centerville, SD. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lorine Johnson and four children in infancy, Amanda, Rachael, Jonathan and Bennie. Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 28, 2007 at Prairie Lakes Church in Cedar Falls with visitation one hour before the service. Services will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday, September 30, 2007 at the Big Springs Baptist Church in Alcester, SD with an open celebration of Leisas life from 1-2 p.m. at the church Burial will be in the Big Springs Cemetery in rural Alcester.
