LaValle Martin Voog was born in Sioux Falls, SD on February 16, 1954 to Martin and LaVona (Lunning) Voog. He was baptized and confirmed at Scandia Lutheran Church. He attended county school in rural Viborg and graduated from Centerville High School in 1972.
He was active in FFA, 4H, track, football, wrestling, band and chorus. He loved the country and the farm while growing up. He helped his dad and then worked for Ron Lounsbery and Lee Rist on their farms.
He worked at S.E. South Dakota Experiment Farm until his marriage to Kelli (Carolyn) Buss on February 14, 1976. The couple made their home in Sioux Falls and LaValle started working in the construction of new homes and remodeling. LaValle's working career also consisted of working as a hog buyer for Frankman Olson at the Sioux Falls Stockyard. He then worked at Dockendorf Equipment where he injured his back and had his first back surgery at the age of 35.
Upon buying a house in Centerville in 1985 he worked at Centerville Good Samaritan Center in maintenance. His last job was at Chuck's Custom Cabinets making custom canients until needing his 3rd back surgery which left him unable to work. He then babysat for his grandchildren and loved and cherished all of them.
Together LaValle and Kelli had three children, Bridget (Scott) Hansen, Centerville, Tammy (Neal) Bobzin, Centerville and Jared (Ashley) Voog, Viborg; nine grandchildren, Lane, Bailey, and Miley Hansen, Logan, Aiden and Ethan Bobzin and Hayley, Isabella and Aspen Voog. He was preceded in death by his parents Martin and LaVona Voog and his sister Candace.
LaValle loved unconditionally and never expected anything in return. He loved the outdoors, the acreage they owned in rural Centerville, hunting, snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, and triking, especially in the Hills. He loved being able to attend the Sturgis Bike Rally and vacations to the Black Hills. The couple was almost inseparable. Usually, when you saw one, you saw the other.
