Larry Judine Lewison was born on June 20, 1947, to Albert and Pearl (Eden) Lewison. He peacefully passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at Sanford Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family.

Larry was deeply rooted in his community, having spent most of his life in Beresford, South Dakota. He dedicated many years of service to working at local gas stations and a hardware store. He was proud to be a dedicated driver for the Beresford ambulance for several years.

Larry's love for the outdoors was evident in his many hobbies, which included trapping, hunting, and trap shooting. Hobbies he learned from his dad and then passed on to his children and Weston. In his younger days, he was passionate about drag racing and was often seen speeding with his beloved 1967 Chevelle.

He enjoyed the activities involved in home ownership and took great pride in his meticulously organized garage.  Working on his landscaping was one of his favorites. He ensured his lawn was vibrant green in the spring and summer and always strived for a weed-free oasis.

On September 22, 1979, Larry married the love of his life, June Kirkebak. Together, they welcomed and raised two wonderful children, Tyler and Reanna, who brought immense joy to their lives. Larry's role as a grandfather was transformative; his grandson Weston's birth filled his heart with pride and happiness, which grew when another grandson, Emmett, joined the family. The stories Larry shared about his grandsons brought smiles to his face with much laughter to their family.  Grandpa Larry found many ways to spoil his boys.

Larry's love extended beyond his family, reaching friends and acquaintances alike. He had a knack for helping others, whether through sharing his vast knowledge or using his skills to fix things for those in need. He kept himself busy and often found tinkering with projects or enjoying a drive around town.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, June; his son, Tyler (partner Wendy); his daughter, Reanna (partner Pat); and his cherished grandsons, Weston and Emmett. He is also survived by his sister, Ardis Hass; his brother, Bud (Beverly) Lewison; his brother-in-law, Bill Anderson; special family friend Sandy Tripke; and countless nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his father and mother-in-law, Russel and Janice Kirkebak; his sister, Marlys Anderson; his brother-in-law, Arn Hass; his brother, Eldeen and his wife, Kathleen; nephew, Bradley Hass; and grandparents Edward and Ella Lewison and John and Anna Eden.

A casual visitation will be held on Saturday, August 24, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Emmanuel Lutheran Church's narthex. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, are appreciated and will honor Larry's legacy.

The family expresses gratitude for your love and support during this difficult time. Larry will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
