Larry Neil Kinkner was born October 12, 1944 near Beresford, South Dakota to Vern and Genevieve (Fait) Kinkner. He died September 17, 2024 at Dougherty Hospice in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 79 years.

Shortly after his birth his father died. His mother married Jim Bruton and he and his brother Leslie were raised with two sisters and a brother. Larry graduated from high school and he immediately started his working career. Larry worked for 46 years at John Morrell in Sioux Falls. He started on the line, became electrician and later a supervisor. His last 10 years were spent traveling to other plants working for corporate.

In addition to his long career at Morrell's, Larry farmed northeast of Beresford that entire time. He married Faith Johnson September 27, 1963. They made their home on the farm where they raised their two children.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Fred and Anna Kinkner; maternal grandparents, A.B. "Dick" and Florence Fait; his father, Vern Kinkner; mother and step-father, Genevieve and Jim Bruton; and his brother, Leslie Kinkner.

Larry is survived by his wife of 60 years, Faith Kinkner; son, Randall Kinkner of Beresford; daughter, TK Logan (Mark Sammons) of Lexington, KY; granddaughter, Austin Logan (Casey Snelling); grandson, Alex Thomas; granddaughter, Kylie Snelling; great-granddaughter, Hayley Snelling all of Burlington, KY; two sisters, Patsy (Jim) Stensland of Hudson, SD and Gayline (Steve) Barlou of Columbia, SC; and his brother, Ron (P.J.) Bruton of Little Rock, AR.

A celebration of Larry's life will be 10AM Friday, September 27, 2024 at the Beresford United Church of Christ, 109 N 5th Street, Beresford, SD  57004.
